Re: APC use in a extractor

As an aside, if you have a product that foams too much you can add a defoamer to the recovery tank to neutralize this. If you don't want to get a product specifically for this you might use vinegar...

Waterless washes

I see there are 2 versions listed now. What's the functional difference? Or is it more so that stores that carry only 1 line might still carry a waterless wash? I see they are at least different...

Re: Ceramic Coating

I would guess that the new Mothers ceramic spray coating that comes out this year may be what you are looking for.

Re: CMX CERAMIC SPRAY COATING - New for 2019!

Cr@p. Time to plan a spring time run for the border, I guess.

Re: CMX CERAMIC SPRAY COATING - New for 2019!

Do you know if Canadian Tire will be carrying this?

Re: New Car and Cleaning schedule

I will suggest that a couple times a year you switch to the cleaner wax instead of all Step 3 pure wax. Not that you have to, but you may notice a difference in addressing the inevitable...

Re: Removing Over Spray

What sort of glossy paint is clay not recommended for? I'm guessing you aren't referring to car body paint.

Re: Need advice for restoring dull finish

Work one section to see what is effective before going over the whole car. (And as mentioned, pictures may help; even more info on the age and type of car.)
Another consideration is whether your...

Re: PLESE tell me you still make this !

Just a bump on the question-is new stock SynWax still sold in Canada or would the stock sold at Canadian Tire likely be older stock they are trying to sell through?

Re: PLESE tell me you still make this !

FX Synwax liquid is still available in Canada at Canadian Tire. Are they carrying it as FX because of the bilingual labels? Or would this likely be old stock not yet sold? $13.99 here.

Re: Wiper arms...wax or dressing?

If the arms are painted metal, then wax. If they are plastic coated, then dressing.

Re: Help with choosing products - neglected car

I'm not sure what you have currently to use, but whichever route you go, work on one small area to get a formula that works. No point going over the whole car then realizing you should have done...

Re: Oops, rookie mistake...

The spray wax from the car wash is not terribly durable. A good hand washing will likely remove anything that was still on the car when the "wax" was applied. The spray likely stuck to the residue,...

Re: Dried car after rain

It's possible the marring went past the wax layer. Without seeing it in person, though, it's hard to say for sure. Have you tried applying a bit of wax to an area to see how it turns out?

The...

Re: Using Spray Wax for glass

Showtime is pretty good for cleaning glass and you get the added bonus of a cinnamon air freshener!

Re: Water Marks Post Wax

If you used a cleaner wax, you may have removed the previous layer of wax as you applied your liquid wax.

Re: Coin operated car wash..good/bad

See if any of the coin ops will let you bring in a bucket. Typically the ones that are "pay-by the minute" don't mind as you are still paying them while you are washing with your mitt anyway....

Re: Shallow scratches

A suggestion I have is to not worry about getting the scratches 100% gone, as it will remove more paint than needed, if the dog is likely to continue to scratch to paint. Polish the paint just...

Re: So whats essential on a budget??

You could likely check the web site for each store to do a price comparison. May not be 100% accurate, but it would give you an idea. Also, some places offer a price matching policy, so if you have...

Re: So whats essential on a budget??

If budget restrictions were the deciding factor, I would say get Scratch Remover instead of Step 1, but if you can get both, then get both. Use SR first then follow with Step 1. SR is intended for...

Re: So whats essential on a budget??

If you are going to do this by hand, I recommend using the Scratch Remover. It's a polish and will be more effective on old neglected paint than Step 1 (IMHO). It will help minimize scratches as...

It's been mentioned in some other threads that the products are the same, only the name/labels have changed.

Re: Matt

I'd recommend a toothbrush and some dish soap/water. Then follow up with Protectant.
