Default Can someone recommend a good wash mitt or sponge? (That actually provides suds)

I switched from the regular synthetic sponge to the microfiber sponge and microfiber wash mitts. And I have to say that I am a little disappointed.

The new microfiber sponge and wash mitts do not provide the "suds" a normal sponge would. It seems like the microfibers are better as ABSORBING than they are good for washing a car.

No matter how much Car wash soap I use, there isn't enough "Sudsing" action going on. Compared to a normal sponge.

It just looks like I'm going over the car with water. I can see a little bit of suds, but not a lot.

Does the "sudsing" action of a regular sponge matter? For me, I just feel that the more suds the sponge creates, the better.

I usually switch between a lambs wool mitt and the microfiber chenille type mitts. I have used a synthetic sponge on occasion.

The sponge I use can create suds when you squeeze it because the soap is forced through the tiny pores in the sponge. I am not sure if that is the effect you are noticing.

The mf mitt does not seem to create suds like the sponge does but I think the mf cleans better than a sponge but then a lot has to do with how much pressure you apply while washing.

The wool mitts also seem to hold more suds than the mf if you do not squeeze the mitt before removing from the bucket.

Everyone seems to say suds does not matter in regards to cleaning ability but does it make the mitt slide better against the paint?

Thanks. I think suds helps lift and remove dirt and provide a some "lubrication"..

At least the MF sponge/mitts doesn't scratch. Only if they can make one that produce a lot suds.

You should be generating suds by introducing a strong spray into the bucket with an aerated spray. Unless you have suds in the bucket, you're not going to be able to carry suds to the vehicle.

I see. I'll give that a try during my next wash.

Never had to use that method with a regular sponge. It just create the suds by itself.
