A strong/very strong wheel cleaner.

I did my daughter`s wheels today and what ever is on them laughed at Meg`s Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner. I was pressed for time so I just did as I was instructed. Maybe I`ll try Meg`s again using a toothbrush. They are stained very bad. Any suggestions or recommendations?:dunno

It might be caked on baked on brake dust mixed with all the salt and junk from the roads.
I have had stuff like that on my wheels and wheel cleaner did nothing.
I have used simonize chrome polish on chrome and cleacoated wheels. wipe it on and let it sit for about 15 minutes and then buff it off. Usually it will take all the junk off ... if not follow with a second application. Then apply a sealant like UPP to the wheels to make them easier to wash the next time ... Actually you will probably be able to use regular car wash shampoo.

zep oven and grill cleaner will melt it off.... i spray down the wheel let that sit on there for 5 mins then pressure wash it off. This stuff has taken the elbow grease out of wheel cleaning

Hot Rims is not that powerful a cleaner, which is a good thing because it is likely to fall into many of the wrong hands, if you know what I mean. For that matter, P21S is even milder. The milder it is, the less likely to hurt your wheels. Pick up some Eagle One A2Z and a good wheel brush and that should do it. Despite the instructions, I never use any wheel cleaner on a dry wheel. I always rinse the wheel down to prevent spotting in the initial application area. It`s very good stuff.

Be extremely careful using oven cleaner ...
1. It will etch non coated aluminum wheels
2. It could also damage rotors and other brake parts.
3. An oven is actually baked on porcelean (sic) which is very similar to ceramic.
4. If the clearcoat on your rim is chipped ... my question is, what is the oven cleaner doing to the metal underneath??

Sometimes you`ve got to do what you`ve got to do. I mean if you really want to get on your hands and knees and scrub, be my guest, however I have more important things to do than meticulously clean wheels and make absolutely sure I don`t damage anything. I`d rather have my wheels clean, but have used a little too aggressive cleaner, than have them dirty and use hot rims (especially if it`s not my car).

thats what i say.... get in get it done and get out.....

and oven cleaner would not damage brake rotors or parts because if so it would damge your grill..

and i would have to say that it is more safe than most acid wheel cleaners out there
