    Smile Nasty Swirl Removal

Very quick exterior-only, not-as-thorough-as-I`d-like job, but it was a favor to a good friend, and I think the results, though not perfect, were pretty dramatic.

    Process:

Mother`s California Gold Clay, soap and water as lube.

Cutting pad with 3M Perfect it II, and a little Meg`s Scratch X. (Risky Experiment, but worked pretty well to get out the big scratches and deep swirls)

    Polishing pad with SSR1

    Meg`s NXT Tech wax.

    Here are the pics:

    After again:

Paint is much clearer. Very fine swirls present, and you can see the chips in the hood that I was talking about.

Looks nice , but can`t really tell if the swirls were removed. Take a picture with the sun reflecttion, just like before pics.
But after all it looks nice, did you use PC?

Dimedrol, you`re right about the angle. Unfortunately, we were getting the early evening / late afternoon sun, so I couldn`t get that harsh light that I had in the before pic. But here`s another before pic taken at a similar angle as the after pic - you can see the swirls there, and not on the after pic.

And yes, I used my new 7424, and i LOVE IT!

Looks good. I`d say that is quite an improvement. I would think your friend would be quite pleased about it.

Hey Bay area!! Sonoma County here!

The car looks great did you use a PC? I`e found that you really need a rotary to get swrils out!

    Hey beemerboy, we meet again!

Yeah I used a PC. Had to use a mix of Meg`s scratchX and SSR, with meg`s red cutting pad to get the bad swirls out - would have been better to use a rotary, but I don`t have one, and we had to make do with what we had =)

Thanks for the feedback everyone! =)
