    canopies

What kind of canopies do you folks use? I am unfortunate enough to not have a garage at the moment (military housing...go figure). I`m looking for an inexpensive, yet acceptable canopy to use for detailing. I found the following at WallyWorld. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=2031966

Note the small picture showing the canopy and larger showing the add-on side walls.

they are good i have two of them ..ok three ...I use them for big shows and my Caddy sits under one....

that`s a good price together...I wonder how thick the legs are?

also I saw one at costco that was arced which allows snow to fall off...

there is also a better version with a better warranty at the BJ`s near me for about $300 and made for all seasons....

I just ordered a 10x10 EZ up from harbor frieght tools today, $109 free shipping. It`s not on the web site, I saw it in one of their catalogs. It`s the Escort model so $109 is the going price on other web sites but not w/free shipping. One seller on eBay was charging $94 shipping for a $149 dome Ex up.
Dream big and be willing to do the work to get there.

The Canopy from BJ`s is very sturdy. I do not own one, but spent a lot of leaning on or standing next to one, when I worked @ BJ`s. The poles are higher guage and viynl roof is heavier (thicker material). Rememer you get what you pay for. The Wal-Mart tents look a little weak, for full time use.

    My thought on canopies

This week I was detailing in a very exclusive neiborhood in 95 degree heat. Canopy was in full effect as I was buffing out an 02 S500. I heard a sweet sound of a 2000 Porsche 911 pass by as I took a second to look, the car stopped and proceded to back up. Driver drove up and asked for my card. I will be detailing his Porsche and his F150 Lightning on Thurs. of next week... The canopy yells out " WHAT IS GOING ON OVER THERE" !!! This incident is not the first or the last customer lured in by the EZ-UP !!!
Well worth investment !!! And is it absolutely necessary when detailing in the summer !!! Just my $.02...

    Frozen..

Cheap fix ... I have (4) patio furniture umbrella weight used to secure the canopy. Works like a charm !!!

    most BJ`s, costco`s , Sam`s club etc...carry it or a similar version

going directly to the company is very expensive...

on my big 10 x 20 during heavy storms or winter blizzards I tie it down to the Caddy...if it can pick up a 3 ton car then so be it
and I also use a big broom to get snow off
