    Meguiars Soap Strips

I recently got a flyer in the mail from meguiars advertising some new products and saw that they came out with a strip that is loaded with something that makes soap and suds for a wash. I claims to make a lot of suds and whatnot. Has anyone ever tried them or even seen them?

There are a number of posts that have discussed this product. I think that the general opinion is that they are an O.K. product. The reservation that many seem to have is that the strips are designed to be mixed: 1 strip per 1 gallon of water. At this dilution level the product works well.

Many however want a little more than just a gallon water in their bucket and when the mix gets further diluted the suds and lubricity of the product are somewhat less than desired. Of course you can always throw another strip in but then the cost goes up and it`s not the best value.

I`ve used this product and this is my opinion as well. I still think that Meguiar`s Gold Class car wash is as good as any. I can buy the strips for about $4.25/20 washes and the Gold Class at $7.00/64 washes at Checker Auto. Though there is probably a case for the convienence of carrying a strip instead of a liquid the cost effectiveness isn`t really that close.

    Hey,

Well as I said on Meguiar`s Online, I did not have any problems using a 1/2 strip in a 4 gallons!
