    Quik Marketing Response

Im new to detail city but not new to the detail biz.
I just sold my business in so cal. and moved my family of 5 to San Antonio Tx. I need some Quick response marketing tips my Yellow page add wont come out for a few months. My cargo van will be lettered on monday and cards are on the way. I DO NOT want to put flyers on windows in parking lots I find this annoying. Has any one had a good response distributing flyers door to door in neighborhoods? I have been going to local offices and handing out temporary cards with some prices but have not recived any calls. My hands are the cleanest and sofest thay have ever been and I cant stand it. Any Ideas will be great

    Thanks

It might not be a bad idea to look into joining the local Chamber of Commerce. Another thing I have done in the past is do some "freebie" washes for friends/relatives/neighbors at their place of employment -- the exposure many times is well worth the hour or two`s labor
A happy customer tells a friend ... An unhappy one tells many friends !!!

Gim-me a car with finns... :naughty and I`ll shows ya what detailin`s all about... :jump

Posted this in another post, may apply here aswell, gl.

Best method ive ever used was print out some brochures (showing different packages and price ranges) (do a search on this bbs).

Park in a local hospital parking lot. Look for a Female doctor (woman make the best customers because they love to talk <<word-n-mouth>> )

    1. Anyways, look for one with a high-end car that is dirty (dirty = no time to wash themselves - Clean = They have a detailer already).

    2. Approach her and tell her you are from -=insert your business name here mobile detailing=- (sell yourself/business) and are giving away a FREE full DETAIL a value of $150.00- $200.00 (whatever your full detail is)

    3. DO a damn good job, work up a sweat, watch all the doctors, nurses, employees approach you.. pass out brochures. Be prepared to be interrupted so many times, the 6-7 hour job will go 9-10 hours.

    4. When the job is done, Client will tell atleast 2 friends.

Sidenotes: be sure you talk to the head nurse/doctor and tell them what it is you are doing (hint hint: if that person is female, that may be your car)

If you`re not using a qew type product, you better.

Sitting in Parking lot waiting for perfect car/perspective client will NOT happen in one day. Takes several days to find it. Don`t rush and get something you`ll regret.

Mind you, you can do this at all/one/several hospitals, all/one/several golf courses. Me myself? Did it at one hospital and i have more then enough for me to handle

    hope this helps

EDIT edit:!! Forgot to mention, on the brochures and NOT in small print: (word how you like) That for any cancellations there will be a $XX.XX fee incurred. This deters them from changing the time/date of detail.

And likewise, if you have an appointment time, keep it!

Find an office building and contact the owner. See if it would be alright to setup in the parking lot on a specific day of the week and advertise to the offices located in the building.

Can setup early in the morning when people are arriving at work with a sign setup and have it setup like you`re ready to work. Have your tent pulled out, etc. Can stop people on their way inside... Just make sure if they look like their hands are full or if they`re in a rush, then probably won`t want to be stopped.

Even if you miss people, the ones you do talk to or even get jobs from will go inside and tell other people.

Marketing your detailing business should be part of your overall Business Plan. Establishing an effective strategic plan for success takes careful planning and planning takes time. Sure the quik easy things are fun, but it takes serious planning and plenty of research to grow a business.

Your strategic planning process makes you face up to reality:

1- It forces you to state yearly profit goals and compare those goals to forecasted
    profits.
2- A properly constructed strategic plan puts a searchlight on market served and not served.
3- You should concentrate on those segments of the market that you can serve
    exceedingly well.
4- Identify your distinctive competencies and aggressively distinguish your business
    from rivals.
5- Set up procedures for identifying, appraising and responding to opportunities that match your distinctive competencies.

Here`s a useful Marketing Plan things to do list:

1- Write a business mission statement.
    2- Write a strategic plan.
3- Decide whether you will also service wholesale customers.
4- Make a list of the groups of targeted professionals.
5- Create a customer database file.
6- Decide on the prices you will charge for your detailing services.
7- Decide on the primary territory your business will service.
8- Identify what makes your detailing business unique.
    9- Become market driven.
10- Identify your specific market segment.
