Default Sun-screen lotion stain on rubber

What's the best method and product to remove a feint, yet wide swath of sun-screen lotion that was inadvertently wiped across the glove compartment area, which I think is covered by dark gray soft-touch rubber material?

I thought I had wiped this clean off before, but looks like it was only temporarily hidden. By now it's well over a year after the fact so I'm hoping it's not quite too late.

My first try would be Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner sprayed on a damp towel.

Wipe well, then rewipe with a dampened towel. Treat afterwards with Protectant or VLR.

Let us know how that works.

Some sunscreen products can permanently damage finishes, so be careful not to remove the finish along with the sunscreen stain, making the problem worse.
