Default 45 year old plastic

wondering what is the best way to attack these. i'm not concerned about the material as the seats will be recovered. i'm interested in reviving the plastic pieces and main back plastic shell. the smaller pieces are oxidized and need a good cleaning. the shell is so cruddy that in some spots you can take your fingernail and scratch some crud off.

i'm torn between attacking everything with: VLR, back to black, plastic polish, or rubbing compound...

ps...how about a good drill accessory like a plastic bristle brush to attack the back shell?

Default Re: 45 year old plastic

I would start with Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner and a medium bristle brush. Using a stiff brush would likely result in scratching.

After the cleaner, wipe it well with water-dampened towels to remove any residue and check to see if it meets your requirements.
