    Stripping UPP

I just got my order of UPC and UPP on thursday and I had to play a little today. I didnt take the time to use the scratch and swirl remover because of time. I just did my hood with UPC and UPP just to see how it looked. AMAZING is all I can say.

Now what I am wandering here in about a month when the weather finally breaks what do I need to do to strip this off before claying and using 1Z Paint Polish to get rid of the swirls?

PP is one of the best and more versatile medium polishes out-there, by and, RO, or rotary it`ll provide a great finish. Just follow it with UPC.

I`m going to go with Poorboy`s Pro Polish to get off the UPP.

I would use a straight polish to remove UPP. Your 1Z should do the trick too (although I am not familiar with it).

I put about 20 coats of UPP on my car this past winter. I`m going to wash, polish (ProPolish), clay,Polish with Carnuba,Ex, then Trade Secret mine and Natty`s my wife`s.

Do you need to remove the UPP before claying or will the clay still work with the upp on it?

The clay would do BETTER if it was stripped. It needs to be right on top of the clear for it to work best.

Has anyone done a wash with DISH SOAP (Dawn, AJAX, etc.) to remove a polymer? I`m sure that would work too.

I`ve used Meguiars Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner (step 1) it is cheap and seems to do the job nicely.
