    Beautiful Day For A Detail

This BMW is a gorgeous blue, not sure of the exact BMW color but I have only seen one other like it.

It was vandalized and broken into 1 week after they bought it and the seats had to be replaced and the drivers side re-painted.

Hours went into the paint prep. The first step was a 1200 grit paint leveler with a cutting pad and from then out it was Light Cut with polishing and finishing pads.

Cyclo was then used with Paint Cleansing Lotion and then I used ClearKote`s Vanilla Moose Wax Hand Glaze for the very first time. Easy on and easy off, really gives a very nice shine BUT cannot be used as a topper of something like AIO because the VMHG has a cleaner in it. Smells great also:p

Heavy water spots on the windows were removed using ClearKote`s Metal Polish.

First 2 pictures are of the re-painted side

The factory finished paint job offers more clarity....might not be that clear with these pictures.

Engine.....This is a cleaned and dressed engine but not a "detailed" engine.

    Great work as always.

What would make the engine compartment a detailed one?

    Eric,

    Glad you asked that

I would spend a bit more time on it polishing out all the metal. This would include as much metal as I could reach such as hose clamps, which I would set all in the same direction, bolt heads also. I applied the Vanilla Moose Wax to the painted portions of the engine but for a detail I would rub the painted parts out first and try to get as much shine and gloss as possible.

The time on this engine was about an hour, from cleaning to drying to dressing......well make that about an hour and 45 minutes because I also washed the sound deadening material under the hood. Detailers always forget that area when detailing engines.
I usually charge an extra $50 to $75 to polish the engine area.

    Thanks,
    Anthony
