Rubber from the Track

Finally got my car down to the track last friday. I used a set of Mickey Thompson street slicks and now I have rubber all over the wheel wells and my ground effects. What should I use to remove it? Its been sitting in the garage and I happen to notice it last night but I didnt venture back out there today to check out the damage.
It ran a best time of 13.1 @ 108 with a bad 60 ft time of 2.143
Maybe some traction bars are in order for this summer.

I`d just use some APC and soap and water. BTW I want my car back.

Steve (Guru Reports) suggested using Meguiars Quick Wax on areas likely to get `hit` prior to going to the track

Meguiar`s Bug & Tar remover will work for you, it has for me. Now let`s get that 60` time down to the 1.6`s huh?

Jegs.com sells some Geddex that you spray on before you race. Makes it easy to get the rubber off.

Have have a regular account that is a porche racing team and racing school. I clean that rubber off the cars all the time. I use Goof Off. Buy it at any hardware box store in the paint isle. Safe on clear coats and single stage paint. I`ve tried it all and Goof Off works the best.

WD40 will work or try some tar remover.

That`s a sweet looking car! Your car should run 12s if you get traction. That track must not have been prepped well. My truck (my detail rig) does 2.144 60ft times on street tires.

I have a ton of VHT (track sticky stuff) and rubber in my front wheel wells. I haven`t gotten around to pulling the front tires and scrubbing it off.

Thanks again for all the quick and helpful responses. I hope to get in the garage and clean her up this weekend.

The vehicle I was racing was a older ford ranger with a 5.0 mustang motor. It had a mild cam and a few bolt on parts.

My car is stock except for the exhaust from front to back, injectors, bigger mass air meter, 3.55 gears, hurst shifter, and a supercharger. Its set up very mild due to the motor being stock. Someday I`ll get it rebuilt so I can use the full potential of the blower.
