    Thumbs down Foaming Engine Brite

I got a call Friday afternoon to detail a Vette`s engine for a car show. I didn`t realize I was out of degreaser and APC until 1 hour before I had to go. I stopped at a store and decided to try some Foaming Engine Brite after seeing the CD2 results and figured it would be the same. This stuff is HORRIBLE!!! I followed directions and sprayed on a dry cool engine and let it sit for 5 min. After that I rinsed it off. There wasn`t any visible grease to begin with, just a lot of dirt. I wiped off the water with a MF and started noticing a ton of dirt on the MF. When ever I`ve cleaned an engine it never leaves that much dirt behind. Then after I was done wiping, the plastic had a white "hue" to it and there was a film on everything. I sprayed Pro`s Premo on it and let it soak in, and wiped it off with another MF. This got rid of the white hue but it still didn`t look black like it should. I managed to correct most of the film by wiping it with a MF but the whole detail took me over 30 min when it should have been much less. Needless to say the guy was happy and wants me to do a complete on it, he even tipped me. My new degreaser is Meguiars Super Degreaser from their Detailer line, which I finally found a supplier for and am switching to it for my bulk supplies. I`ll be doing some reviews of it as it comes in.

Ive always been a fan of a good degreased followed by a trim product to cover most areas. After that dries, I usually use Trim Shine to fix any remaining areas.

If it works for Clean Dean, it works for me.
