Still using too much carwash

Yesterday I washed my car using the BMW shampoo I received from awd330. It came in a 4 ounce bottle. I poured about a 1/3 of the bottle into a 5 gallon bucket. I then blasted the bucket with a jet stream of water. Suds erupted instantly. The problem I had is that there was enough soap in that bucket to wash at least 3 cars. Next time I"ll cut the 1/3 in half.

You could just get a cheap measuring cup from the dollar store. That way you can get the exact manufacturer recommended mixture.

The overwhelming of suds is not the problem it`s the amount of product leftover. Yes I know I should use a measuring instrument but that makes too much sense.

FWIW
An old Dawn, (used for dishes), squeeze bottle works good for me. I used a Sharpie pen to mark 1 ounce increments on the side of the bottle and just squeeze about an ounce in the wash bucket. The bottle is virtually unbreakable and very convenient to store and use. Convenient being, throw it in the wash bucket after I finish washing.
A baby bottle helped with getting the marks on the Dawn bottle in the right places.

If I am doing product comparisons or evaluations, I make sure that my measurements and dilutions are accurate. That means pulling out the measuring cups and carefully watching the bucket/bottle fill lines. When it comes down to every day casual use, I am usually guilty of just "eye balling" the mixtures.

I like CharlesW`s idea, though I think I am going to try using one of those bottles with volume indicator markings already printed on the side. My handwriting is too sloppy for me to try drawing a whole series of neat little hash marks.

i stole my mom`s measuring cup for baking, and started using that.... i used the conversions of oz to cups, so basically i use about 1/4 cup (2 oz) everytime i wash cars

Been using NXT and have been using the visual method of measuring. Pour it in and stop when it looks like enough. Never had any problems with it seeming like to little or too much, but I thought one day I would measure it out. Turns out that my old method was pretty darn close to the measured method. NXT is fairly inexpensive so if I`m a little over, no big deal. Never could see using some of these expensive boutique products for a car wash soap. I`d rather save my money for other goodies.:rockin
