Help I got the stinky stuff on me

I was riding around out in the backwoods last night (pretty much everything around here is the backwoods) and hit a polecat. I have tried washing my truck twice and sprayed febreeze and hung air freshners in my truck but it is still hard to get in without about getting sick. If I turn on the air I get the smell on me, so what should I do. Anything really strong I can put in the truck or do I just have to wait it out.

I have no idea what a polecat is...... but if you hit it, I guess it would have been in the front of the vehicle? Einszett makes a product that you spray into your A/C vents to clean them out.

Its the last product listed on this page:

Maybe that is what you need. If you think the smell is into your fabric now, you could try cleaning the fabric, or spraying something like Meguiar`s Odor Eliminator. That is more geared for removing the odor instead of covering it up.

If you park in a garage, you could leave your windows rolled down to let the vehicle air out a bit more as well.

You just need to figure out where the smell is coming from, and then work on that specific area. I hope this helps

I am going to guess most of the smell is coming from the underside of the truck when you ran over the skunk? Same thing happened to me years ago...After searching on the internet, the only thing that can get rid of the smell is diluted bleach (the chlorine breaks up the sulfur). So mix up a 10% chlorine in a spray bottle and apply, and then rinse away about 20 minutes later to see if it helps. Repeat if necessary.

Thanks guys, I am gonna try all those, cuz I can tell alot of it is coming from under the truck and the smell goes everywhere when I turn on the AC. I swear I don`t know if it is just my driving or what it is but I am gonna start calling that truck the roadkiller, I think animals are trying to check out the results from all the stuff I learned here and forgot to get out of the road lol.

A skunk was killed seventy feet away from our garage. I had skunk odor inside the car for days, even though the garage was closed.
