How cold? Any access to a garage?

I prefer to use QEW in the garage. If I don`t have access to a garage, I wear water proof boots and move quickly.

Well if it`s above freezing than you should be fine. I have washed outside at 28 degrees. Just get a warm bucket of water inside your house and then just rinse the car with the cold hose water. There are quite a few waxes out there that work below freezing. Granted once you get below 28, you are pushing it, but just wait for 40 degree day and most waxes will cure just fine. I actually like detailing in 40-45 degree weather because you don`t have to worry about the sun drying water droplets and making water marks. Also, in low temperatures the wax doesn`t get baked onto the paint easily if you happen to get careless. So, this means you can detail in the sunshine more than you can during any other time of year. The bad thing about the outdoors during winter is the wind. This will knock down the temperature a few more degrees. However, if I had to choose between sunny but windy outside or not sunny but not windy inside I would choose outside. So where are you at that is so cold? Most people on the board have done a spring detail by now except in the coldest locations.

Above freezing I go to the high pressure car wash, then drive the truck to blow water off, go home and dry then use Poorboys Spray and Wipe to complete the job. That`s what I did all winter and it worked great.
Dream big and be willing to do the work to get there.
