Thumbs up PC pads and plate opinions??

I would like to know if anyone ordered the following pads and/or backing plates from the following vendors and your experience with the products:

    1) Top of the Line:
    6" DA velcro back-plate or
    PC Flexible Velcro Pad Holder
    7.5" Variable Depth LC pads

    2) CMA:
    VBP-6 velcro backing plate or
    6 inch Flexible Backing Plate
    Advanced, 7.5 inch, Foam Pads

    3) PAC:
Edge 2000 DA Dura-Foam Foam Pads
    Edge 2000 Quick-Connect Adaptor

TOL = CMA pads since they both use Lake Country pads. I would choose TOL since they are somewhat cheaper and Irene rocks. The Edge 2000 pads are gonna be a big hit after time since they involve NO velcro are really strong. Either way its worthwhile. I choose PAC for Dwayne`s awesome service and since I`ve tried the DA Edge pads.

Uh oh, what new LC stuff? I have their catalog, nothing particularly strikes me other than maybe their blue pads, a touch even less aggressive than the black.

I ordered the 6" flexible backing plate from CMA, it arrives next couple of days. Will try it out and see what it`s like.

On another note, has anyone used the Porter Cable 6" backing plate?
I got my PC7424 from Coastaltool and they included a Porter Cable #18002 6" Hook and Loop Contour Pad With 6 Dust Holes. Is this any good?

I think it might be a good idea for those without plates at all to order plates intended for a rotary and then get the DA adapter. This will be economical for you later if you plan to move on to the rotary, you won`t have to get a whole other set of plates like I had to just for the rotary

Any reason to go with a flexible plate with a PC? I believe one of the websites said the flexible plate was more for a rotary and less important for a PC.

All depends if you ever want to go rotary some day down the road, if so, see above

OK, I get from your answer that if you consider going rotary in the future, go with the flexible now as it can be used for both polishers. In my case, I am doing only my cars, and I keep them fairly new, so the rigid plate will do...right? Unless of course the flexible plate has any benefits with the PC.

I have the flexible for the rotary and the rigid for the PC. I don`t see much benefit of the flexible on the PC only. I take it the rigid is cheaper too. I`d go with that.

Thanks Bill. Where did you get your plates? I mentioned 3 vendors. Are they all good sources?

After less than a year, the velcro backing pad I got from Coastal Tool is about done. I`m also interested in knowing what a good backing pad to get is
