    Black on Black BMW 7

Did this new 04 BMW today. Jet Black exterior, fully loaded interior. Nice ride BUT I think it`s boring to drive

I have just a few exterior pics to share with you all as the day got late and I had one more car to get to.

It was finished with Light Cut, Final Polish and FMJ.

Ahh, that is one sweet looking ride

Anthony, do you find the newer (well 96+) clear coat to be harder than American cars? Seems as if it takes a bit more work to remove imperfections?

Hey thanks Nick! You are a busy bee as I just got your PM and now you already replied to this.....phew!

In regards to your question here, YES. I do notice they are a bit tougher......although they do scratch and swirls easy also, go figure.

    Thanks again,
    Anthony

I have an `03 745Li and I find the clear to be quite soft. Much softer than GM cars such as the Escalade EXT, and even Japanese cars such as Lexus SC430 and LX 470...

Interesting....I`ve got 7 Beemers on my list, and as I remember, all 7 were tough. Not many GM`s though, so it would be hard to compare. I did an 03` Yukon about two weeks ago, and that was mild.

Maybe I should lay off the Turtle Wax

    Just kidding

    Nicely done Anthony.

The 745`s seem to be a dime a dozen down here in Palm Beach. The interior room and trunk are enormous. For some reason, i compare the new 745`s to luxury Yacht`s...just about the same size.

    Thumbs up

Yowza looks good Anthony, I think anyone having BMW 7 series should have a driver driving them, or else get a Porsche.

ps:Bye bye Chris Bangle , hope no more umm eccentric looking beemer:-p

I`m with Beemer - the 745 is a dilly of a pickle of a jam to ride in (bud at work has one - I don`t get to drive but the passenger ride is schweet).

Hello people and let me say to all a big THANK YOU for the compliments and comments

Now let me clarify my statement about the BMW 7 being "boring to drive". This particular client has had really nothing but high end exotics - Ferraris, Lambo`s, Vipers, Porsches, etc - and called me to ask my thouhts on several cars as he is selling his Marenello and in need of something more "CEOish". So we went and shopped and looked at a super charged Jaguar, the Audi A8 and the BMW 7.

I told him while the A8 is not as techno wiz as the BMW it is more fun to drive. It has a more sports car feel and racier. remember he drove only sport cars mainly. He drove the A8 and loved it and understod what I meant by the BMW being "boring" when compared to say the A8 or the M5 (which he also once owned).

So he agreed fully with me on that BUT the BMW dealer gave him the best cash deal for his Ferrari so he went with them BMW7.

In other words BMW, and many other high end luxurys, places so much emphasis on luxury and comfort that they take away or numb the driving experience. That`s all I meant, I mean I would never turn down a BMW 7 !! Great car and a powerful maching but I would take the M5 over it, or the A8

Lastly, the clear coats do mar easy on these cars BUT in that same way they are difficult to work on because they can be so easily marred. In other words one must be very careful how they go about leveling the paint to remove swirls/scratches because they may only worsen the situation....did that make any sense?

    Take care,
    Anthony
