    used dacp/vm/Mw w/ C like a montha go.

dcided to VM + PUPP today, despite people syaing it won`t bond or whatever.

yeah so VMd it, always gives it a nice wet even look. Love VM. (especially since you can go crazy with it, it only makes trim look better!)

then i went over the whole car with a terry applicator (roundo ne like a wax apper), and put about an ounce of product on the whole car, if that.

very easy to apply, very very BUTTERY.

    Removal, oh removal.

i tried both immediate and letting it haze removal, found hazing to be better, if it isnt hazed it just smears around-- BADLY.

So yeah i didnt really care for removing it, but it was OK. A little easier than SG but not much.

I think it bonded because of the removal difficulty, if it was being repelled by the VM I believe it would have been far far easier to remove.

PUPP also clearly has some kind of lipids in it.

Yeah, I find PUPP (aren`t we supposed to call it something different now, since they can`t say "Platinum"?) tougher to remove than SG. Even with super-thin applications, it`ll smear until it`s fully hazed; takes a while to get it all off. Maybe we oughta let it set up overnight or something.

Nice and slick though, huh? It`s still my fave on the S8- I use it over 1Z`s MP.

You have to apply it very thinly and let it sit for 1 hour, then its really easy to buff off. Its 4 Start UltimatePaintProtection :xyxthumbs

If it smells bad, you got version 3 which is easier to use than 1 or 2 (which just appeals better)

I use a block of latex foam, and it applies much better than a regular foam pad.
Close enough... They`ll never notice anyway

SilvaBimma- Ah, so there`s something functionally different with the latest version, not just the smell, huh? Much as I`ll miss the v2.0 smell, I won`t miss the smearing!

I put it on at least as thin as I do SG and let it set up for several hours. I still have to go over it a few times to get things perfect, so the improvement will be appreciated.

Beanbag- Latex foam, huh? Where did you get that?

Will UPP fare well over *multiple* coats of SG? I certainly can`t use any more hazing

Very interesting read NozeBleedSpeed! Thanks! :xyxthumbs

Looks like I`m eyeing a three step sealant process: AIO and SG now as two bases and then UPP.

    I love it !

PUPP layers very well over SG and I am amazed that there have been problems with smearing. Following the instructions I have not had any problems.

The protection from PUPP will last a long time if finish is maintained with the Ultimate Gloss Ehnancer after a wash. I also use the Ultimate car wash with very good results.

Since last fall I use AIO, SGX2 or 3 then PUPP for my last step protection. This combo look great on my Apline White III BMW 325Is.

    Cheers,

    Hi NoseBleedSpeed,

I am getting old and out of touch, what is a spinner? Is a spinner a hubcap that is rotating even when the car is stopped? If it is you are sooooooo correct.

    Cheers,

I dunno. I found it laying around. I think it was used as packaging or something. Basically, it is kind of dense and rubbery.

I`ve never had hazing or smearing problems with UPP but I am very used to applying products thinly. My only real beef is having to wait 45-60 minutes (as instructed on the version I have) to remove since I don`t always have a garage to leave the vehicle in and the Dallas area is always so windy and dust settles quickly. Other than that, I really like the look and slickness. :up
