Anthony, As usual.....FANTASTIC work and a great help to many I am sure. How long does it take you to do a job like this and what do you charge for an engine such as the one in your pics? Have a great day!

    Ron,

Time it takes is about an hour. If you include the paint work in the engine sils and other areas about another 20 minutes.

If there is chrome and/or aluminum then it can add about another hour.

I charge usually an extra $35 to $50 for engine detailing.

    madtremor,
    Thanks for the compliments

    Frozen,

I have never used Engine Kote so I can`t really comment on how to use it or why it does not work well for you.

I try my best to get the wheel wells as clean as possible in the wash stage. Many times they come out so clean that I don`t have to apply any dressing to them at all.

My dressing of choice for wheel wells is AutoMagics Super Dress It. It is a bit pricey but works well. I am also getting some dressing to try out from Irene, which is water-based, and if it works well I`ll make sure I pass it on.

    Engine Detailing...

    Anthony Orosco,
I thought of this thread today as a detailed the engine of a 2001 CLK 430 Cabriolet. I used old reliable Simple Green and dressed with AM`s Dress-It, however as a final touch-up I used Stoners Trim Shine where needed.

Thanks Anthony for this how-to and technique article and for the pics. Thank you Clean Dean for your pics and the great tip-off to this thread. I`ve added it to my favorites for future reference - which may just be this coming weekend I hope.

    Much appreciated!
