Default Ceramic Coating

I just purchased a new 2018 GMC Canyon pickup. The dealer applied a Dupont Ceramic coating, which product should I use to protect and maintain the ceramic coating and the high gloss the ceramic coating is providing?

I have always been informed that PURE waxes can be used on top of these coatings. I say "Pure" meaning just wax. A wax that doesn't contain any polishes or added cleaning agents. Such as Mothers Pure Carnauba Wax.

However, they do make products that are supposedly specific for ceramic coatings of this sort. These maintainers can be looked at as how "Quick Detailer" is used for all the hardcore wax enthusiasts.

What product is best? That will require a google search. There are MANY ceramic "Booster" sprays out there.

I would guess that the new Mothers ceramic spray coating that comes out this year may be what you are looking for.

CMX would indeed be excellent to maintain the dealer-installed coating.

A good booster mix would be 1 oz CMX, 2 oz CarPro ECH2O, 33 oz distilled water. Good for removing fingerprints, dust, bird poop and leaves some protection behind.

I not sure how CMX will perform diluted with water.

Maybe the chemists at Mothers can offer some input.

Why not simply ONR every wash and recoat with CMX every 6 months if you're pedantic like me?

We can't recommend mixing different products or diluting CMX. Best to stick with a dedicated product for that purpose, like an instant detailer or waterless wash.
