Default Christmas Gift Suggestion

Last year, we spent Christmas Day with our daughter's family here in Rockhampton, and we were all invited to her friend's home a little way out of town, and keep in mind that Christmas in Australia means a hot Summer's day, so we spent most of the day outside.

Our new friend owns a beautiful 1970 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Convertible. This car is actually road registered here in Australia, and it can be as it is now classified as a Classic, so it can stay in its original Left Hand Drive format.

Suitably impressed with this wonderful car, I took some images and we talked about it. He purchased the car from the original owner, who had (slightly) modified the car, mainly with respect to the engine. It has the Ford 351CID Cleveland, an engine not on the original car, but lifted from the Falcon GT range of cars here in Australia at that time. It also has that classic 'shaker' scoop attached directly to the engine and poking through the bonnet.

As it transpires, he exclusively uses Mothers products on this, and the other 2 family cars, a Subaru WRX and a Hyundai Getz, so he knew exactly what I was talking about when I mentioned the products in the Mothers range. Funny thing, the first thing I did, after asking him first, was to 'feel' the painted surface, and it was as smooth as new, and the first thing he replied with was yes, it was clayed.

Knowing that he uses Mothers products, I'm getting him a Mothers themed Christmas gift.

As he already knows the procedure for clay etc for a build up, and while for the original work up he used the 3 step procedure, I know he likes to chop and change things, so I'm going to add a little something to his repertoire.

So, I'm getting him a tub of the FX Synwax paste, a PowerBall 4Paint, and a Mothers Microfibre polishing cloth. Because the microfibre range is not available here in Australia, I'm giving him the only Mothers MF I can get here in Oz, and that's from the Clay Bar Kit. I know he already has a couple of battery drills, so he'll be right to go.

I might suggest that if you have a son, or even a Dad, or a friend who likes the way your car looks and wants to make their own car look similar, this may be a good entry level starter pack as a gift for them, and all you need do then is to give them some general instructions on how to best use this system, or even direct them here to the Forum.

It's just a suggestion here.

Have a look at this wonderful car.

Tony.

Default Re: Christmas Gift Suggestion

I nearly always include a Mothers item or two on my Christmas list. Last year I received the headlight restoration kit.

This year I asked for some California Gold Car Wash since I'm just about out.

Merry Christmas to all!
