Default Courtesy car washes...take caution.

This is not really OFF-topic but it's kind of a rant so I posted in this thread. Anyway, I had my Flex serviced at the dealership recently and when my advisor called to tell me it was ready for pick up she mentioned they just need to wash it (it was dusty then it got rained on), right then an alarm went off in my head and told her that wasn't necessary (hell no). Oh well, it was done anyway, and by the looks of it probably with a hand-held brush/wash device. My black roof is swirled up and the black plastic pillars (which have been corrected previously) are all swirled up again. Deep scratches on fender either from mechanic or washer trying to scrub off black scuffs. Body panels are white but just like the roof I'm sure they're scratched up too. Now I'm eager to polish the whole thing but I'm so pressed for time. Watch out for those courtesy washes!

Sorry to hear this. Make yourself some do not wash car flyers and put them on the window and in the interior so they know not to wash it.

Good luck with the paint correction.

That sucks. Thanks for this warning. My wife's dealer is also offering the same thing.

Yes, never accept a free car wash. I had my car repaired and they had to wash before doing the paint and messed it up. It was like a wipe down by the body shop wash guy. That time of the year there was a lot of pollen which did not help.
