Default Aluminum Polish

Have an Aluminum boat I am looking to polish up to a nice shine. Tried steel wool and it seems to have scratched a bit and left a haze in areas. How do i fix this?

You can use our Mothers Marine PowerMetal with a tool like our PowerBall. Work a 2x2 area and wipe after polishing - do not let the polish dry on the surface.

Thank you. On the bottle it says not for anodized metals. Im assuming the aluminum on the boat is anodized?

Anodized finishes cannot really be polished, as it is a permanent finish. And while Marine PowerMetal may improve the look of neglected anodized, it's not normally recommended.

If you use Marine PowerMetal and it turns black, then the finish is polishable; if it does not turn black, then it is anodized or otherwise coated.

Post a photo of the boat and maybe that can help guide us.

Boat hulls are not anodized. That's a process used on trim pieces and occasionally rims.

If you have an aluminum hull, Marine PowerMetal should be fine. As admin mentioned, posting a pic of your boat would help.
