    2nd coat of UPP

I just put on the second coat of UPP. Can`t say it really improved the look or shine (from the first coat), but it is so slick. I love it!

NHBFAN- Last weekend I washed, clayed, polished with Hi-temp Light Cut and then applied UPP. I applied the 2nd coat of UPP yesterday.

Fr0zen- The BFGs are nice. Much better looking than the Firestone Wilderness I had from the factory. There is a tad bit more tire/road noise, but I rarely pay any attention to it. I have not been off-road with them yet.

Thanks all for the comments. What could I do to get more shine (whether in preparation or product use)?

Did you try any kind of detail spray? Seems too help get you a little of that extra that you are looking for.

    rt,

Yikes............. you want it too shine more? You`re as bad as the rest of us!

Anyhow, I know where you`re coming from. The lighter, and mid-range colors are just not going to look like some of the darker/brighter colors. I have the same issue with my Dark Shadow Gray color. Gray is not an easy color to give that "extra" POP! If I were you, I would put one more coat of UPP on there, and maybe start experimenting with a high end carnauba topper. I tried P21S on a panel on my truck and didn`t see much of an improvement. However, I tried another high end carnauba called Adam`s Butter wax, and did see an improvment............ or at least a different look................ somewhat of a richer appearance. Then, I switched from Platinums QD, to some Mothers showtime and again, saw some improvment. My next test will be some Poorboy`s EX over the UPP, and then top the EX with some Trade Secret.

Moral of the story................ do a little experimenting to see if you can find that "little extra"!

    Good luck.

Boss, you`re right about the topper. Seems like everyone uses something. I`ve noticed several folks on the forum here using EX as a topper. Though, my lazy side may take over and leave it at three coats of UPP . My Lt Pewter truck is great in that it hides light dirt until I can wash, but it doesn`t really shine like black or red. Bummer. I may just have to trade for another truck.

getting silver to pop is hard, you sure did get that truck looking nice and clean though. Throw on another coat of UPP, for me 3 layers is the best look. Yeah EX will add some depth on top of the UPP, but the P21S for some reason doesn`t do much on top of UPP. The one thing you might want to consider in the future is a polish before applying UPP, like AIO, or even better on silver is Clearkote`s Vanilla Moose before UPP - that will give silver a pop with some depth.

I`ve read here and there that UPP will not bond well to many products. Seems AIO is ok from what I`ve read lately, but I am not familiar with the Vanilla Moose. The Clearkote website says it is a glaze that removes spider web scratches. So, it leaves behind some residue. The UPP will bond to that?

I washed my truck again this morning and followed with the UPP QD spray. That made a nice difference! Left a little more shine. I expect the QD doesn`t last long though.
