    Armor-All spots on interior plastics

There are white spots on some of my interior plastics where Armor-All was allowed to sit for a while. I haven`t been able to remove them with anything... does anyone have any suggestions?

Ouch ERC, have you tried a wet towel and some degreaser on it? Sounds like it needs to be broken up. I would then suggest, after testing it, to spray degreaser and use an old toothbrush. Just make sure to wipe it all off well. The next step is to throw that junk away and get yourself some Poorboy`s Natural Look or Adam`s Vinyl, Rubber, and Tire!

Engine degreaser? Is that sarcasm? I`m a little afraid to use degreaser on the clear plastic in front of my gauge cluster. If it`s not sarcasm.. you don`t think that would eat the plastic / make it hazy?

I`d try just a wet towel first, and if that doesn`t work, try your favorite vinyl cleaner. I use diluted APC+ 20:1, and that usually takes care of any old dressing or areas I shouldn`t have dressed.

    erc,

your post said interior plastics, and many were thinking: door panels, A and B pillar sailings, console plastics, etc. In which case the proper way to prep and clean prior to dressing to use a degreaser or all-purpose cleaner.

Instrument cluster plastic is another story. We see this quite often. Car washer sprays dressing all over the console, steering wheel, dash.... Wipes most of it up but the overspray was left on the instument cluster. Left unchecked, it stains.

As Chris said, try the safest route with the damp towel. If dressing is removed but staining is there, try Plexus. If THAT doesn`t work, you can take the cluster apart to remove the plastic cover and use a wet-sanding/plastic polishing technique similar to extreme headlight restoration. Labor intensive, yes, but it works. Hopefully you don`t have to go that far.

    Good luck,
