Question Headlight Restoration

it doesn't say anywhere on the box that this is an hours-long process, and that you need to grind away layers (however many there are) of a coating (or coatings). It now appears I've completely ruined my passenger-side headlight lens because I didn't sand and sand and sand and sand for an hour or more. At lease I didn't start on the driver's side. This product can kill your headlights, I would not recommend using this unless you have a whole day to kill in the attempt. After photo attached.

The headlight restoration process is a process.

I can see you have broken through the aged coating in some places.

The recommendation would be to sand more with the 800-grit disc until that coating is completely gone.

Check it both wet and dry and you should see a uniform frost with all of the aged coating removed.

Only when all of the aged coating is gone should you move to the 1500-grit disc and the following steps.

Email jimd_at_mothers.com if you need more sanding discs and he'll get some out to you.

Everything went into the trash when Pep Boys refused the refund. My only options are to buy a new one from the Ford dealer, pay a professional detailer to see if they can fix it (or make it better, or just live with it the way it is. That $30 turned into an expensive, big mess.
