Default Wiper arms...wax or dressing?

With my previous Ford I neglected the wiper arms and after ten years of ownership the arms had become dull and faded. I want to avoid this happening on the wiper arms of my new Ford but I'm not sure whether to treat them as painted surfaces and use any of my assorted collection of Mothers waxes (but would probably use cleaner wax), or, treat them like trim, with B2B or Protectant. Please advise.

Thanks!

If the arms are painted metal, then wax. If they are plastic coated, then dressing.
