Thumbs up Re: New 2005 Products

Wow!!

A very, very exciting product release!

So, we have a 'Reflections', 'Power', and 'FX' line!

Ooh! Ooh! Let me guess!
PowerWax - Heavy on cleaners for bad finish?
FX SynWax - Competition for NXT Tech Wax (Polymer based)?
Reflections Car Wax - Update on present version (Acrylic Resin based)?
Reflections Top Coat - Without cleaners...synthetic version on Phase 3? VERY excited if this is correct!
The lower order are updates of current products?

I like the new naming system...not as confusing as some branding I've seen (other companies) and more obvious descriptors.

Well done Mother's, well done!!

And well done Forrest!

Now to wait for the details...and then the longer wait (much longer) for them to make their way down under (probably by camel train).

I was hoping MOTHERS will have an all purpose cleaner and a degreaser product for 2005.....

Unfortunately, they both fall into the "commodity" category, and don't sell well at high retails, even if you can get the retailer to put them in.

You can't imagine how difficult it was to get 19 new products out. #20 would have put us over the edge......

WOOT! Bring it on, cant wait to see the new lineup in the flesh. Is the product presented in the same Mothers Red bottles?

Also one question with the new Reflections all in one leather product, is it not fair to assume that it is difficult to both clean and protect a surface such as leather in the one action?

Gugu - all the products are in red,, which has been updated to better match the red of our '59 Sedan Delivery. more red, less orange.

As for the leather, honestly, an all-in-one leather cleaner and condition is a compromise as compared to separate products. But, according to sales data, AIO's outsell separate about 5:1. It's what the retailers want.

It's sad, but true.

Look at your local store's selection of waxes. There are hardly any "systems." Mostly "guaranteed to work in 1 easy step" types.

But then, you can't blame just the retailers, as they buy the stuff that's going to likely sell the best. So you've got to put some blame on the consumers. "Instant gratification!"

I'd go on, but it's taking too long to type.

Well i guess thats where product training comes in, get the guys in the stores who sell the product to actually use it, and it will help to overcome the objections.

A dedicated fan of any product will spruke to ones hearts content. So anyway Forrest you didnt exactly answer my question about the effectiveness of an all in one product in comparison to the two part system, nice diversion though...........

Sorry, I thought I did answer it (an AIO product is a compromise...).

A one step leather product will not clean or protect as well as separate products will.

Forrest, I've seen bits and pieces on Autopia about the new products. Are there more details forthcoming about the differences between products, their application, and maybe some pics?

If I told you, I'd have to ..... Just kidding!

Forrest hasn't put forth much info on the new line yet. Should be coming any time now, I'd imagine. Not that there's any big rush on it, as the products aren't likely to have widespread availability 'till next year.

Autopia is a car detailing website.

FX is a product that should appeal to the early-adopter of technology. It's easy to use, and offers outstanding protection.

I'm trying to get the product info done for posting on the new items, but it takes time - something in short supply at the moment.

Hopefully I can get enough of it done to post up on Monday or Tuesday.

So, ballpark figure, how much should I start socking away if I want to try 1 of each of the new items next spring?
