    Question Scheduling

Does anyone out there use something other than a "run-of-the-mill" calendar for scheduling jobs? If yes, what do you use?

There are tons out there. If you go to www.download.com and do a search for "Calendar" you`ll notice over 300+ different softwarez available. Some are only Calendars, while others are Day Planners, Reminders and QuickNotes. You can read reviews from other users, see their ratings, etc. . . . Most are free. Some require purchase if you like it or ask you to register after a 30 day demo.

Now for popularity, a lot of people are starting to use Franklin`s new "PlanPlus" for Outlook. Take a Peek Here:

I personally haven`t used it, so I can`t comment on use.

However, one thing you may want to keep in mind is if you use/or plan to use a PDA (palmpilot) -- you`ll definetly want a software/scheduler that will sync`up with your PC. Just be sure to read the reviews on each, and make sure it`s compatible with your PC.

    Good Luck.

I come from a back ground in data base managment for large companies. Don`t take this the wrong way, but I ran telemarketing and sales training departments for them.
The data managment software that I use to keep track of appointments and call backs (that`s a big one ) is Goldmine. Its a bit over the top for a detail shop but its on my PC already.

I can enter all the personal info, what I did, price, problems with the car, and then a call back, card, e-mail, you name it, in what ever time frame I think will work for the given customer.

This link will let you read for yourself.

I also have a plam pilot ( I know PC junkie) that I carry for booking or looking at the calander in the field should I need that.

I`m not really that busy but it does help to keep in cheak those cars that you might be able to get twice in a year with a little pro-active call.

I use a Pocket PC and my Tablet PC linked up. I use ACT software on both and incorporate the scheduling and the abilities to take notes on clients and their cars. This way if I am away from home I have my info on the Pocket PC, when I get home I link up and the info is in both places. I like to keep preferences for the customers, like whether they like low gloss or shiny tires.

Has anyone ever heard of rocketgarage.com software. I`m thinking about using that format.
