    Touch-up paint

How is the correct way to use the touch up
paint in the small bottle? As in,smoothing out
    the spot touched up.
Would using a polish do the job,or possibly
    some fine compound?
I have a Very small spot to do on my 2003
    Honda CR-V (white).
    Thanks for any help

    Smile ME TOO!

I`m in the process of doing this too. (see the "Silver Lining" thread)

From what I`ve read. You start leveling ( after its dried properly ) with 1500 grit sand paper then move to 2000 grit then compounding and polishing.

Use lots of water when sanding and put a dab of car wash soap on the spot for lubrication. Also only sand in one direction, not back and forth.

This is what I`m going to try anyway, (I`m hoping to skip the compounding step and go right to DACP, then polish).

I`ll post pics when I`m finished.

Mother`s has a paint leveling product, formerly Lanka, that I have used with mixed results. Basically, it is a type of thinner that levels off the blob that is usually left after touch-up. It works pretty good on solid colors, but getting metallics to blend is not that easy for me.
Since I have had som very good results and some so-so results, it about has to be technique. Luckily, I haven`t had to practice too much.:p

I have the Lanka system here and like Wayne mixed results. Look up Lanka on line and you will see a lot of web site that have step by step insturstions.
