    Eek the cleaning!

Well I was in an absolute rush today and ended up with a ton of problems.

In order to save time on the black trim, I sprayed MSLT on EVERYTHING black, made a nice gloss, but a made a mess of the windows. I figure, hey its Stoner`s so I will get it when I clean the windows (BIG MISTAKE).

So I apply 1 coat of Megs #26. The car still has a good base of Megs #9 and 2x Megs #7 from last month, so I figure its still good. But then when I go to buff it off, it just spreads and smears all over the place. Then it hits me, I am trying to buff off wax in the middle of 100 degree heat in the sun! So the wax is littererally FRIED into the paint, it looks okay because the white paint is forgiving to the uninformed eye, but oh god it looks horrible!

Immediately I go to clean the windows with Sprayway Glass Cleaner, it gets worse. Now the windows are covered with grease and grime from God knows what. I cant get it off either, I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned with Sprayway, just to get more and more smearing all over the place.

    Ideas anyone?

Rain-X does a great job of cutting through wax & other gunk on glass. Using a damp microfiber towel followed by a dry m/f to buff off the Rain-X makes the whole process easier and streak-free.

Heat is one of the `problems` with carnuaba. It will smear like the devil if the surface is even mildly warm.

Now that it has cooled down outside, do you think I could buff it in? Its been on there for nearly 24 hours.

Yeah, give it another try...the carnuaba might have been baked onto the finish, if so, you will have to apply a bit more to be able to remove the dried wax.
