Most of the 6" inch velcro backed pads you find at CMA or Pac or designed for the PC. I would recommend the 5" backing plate for these 6" pads if you do not have it already. Here is a little info on the PC and the pads.

You are correct in thinking that D.A. means dual action. It is not a specific brand, it is the random orbit buffers. Good Luck in your search for pads!!

Re: tons of confusion with pads

Dual action refers to any random orbit polisher. I think there are a couple of dual actions besides the Porter Cable 7424/7336 but the Porter Cable is the most popular, and is the reason most dual actions are referred to as "PC."

Sonus offers nice pads in two different lines, the SFX and DAS (Dual-Action System) pads. The SFX have 100% velcro backing coverage but are slightly smaller than the DAS pads. The DAS pads are easier to use in tight spaces and there are more pads available such as a finishing pad. The Autopia store is the only seller of Sonus pads that I know of.

Perhaps you should give one of the site sponsers a call . I know they would be more than happy to help you pick the right pads .

Well you could start with the first one and work your way through them all. I`m sure PAC would help narrow the choices.
