Cough get Manual Cough..... Seems like the right deal but its best to go see the cars upfront. Be warned fixing any European car is big money. I wouldn`t mind an M3 though.

zesty, but there is no way to escape the insurance cost for you. I looked into one as opposed to the Vette` I have, and it was outrageous....especially with you being 16. The value of the car isn`t bad, but you`ll be paying $3000/year I would predict.

You would still have to be listed as one of the drivers for the car. While it might be a bit cheaper to register the car under your Dad`s name, there`s no escaping the fact that a 16 year old male driver is part of the household.

If you get an M3, you must get a radar detector. They have a very smooth drive and you won`t even know you are speeding.

    M3 + 16 year old male + Speeding ticket = :eek

Enjoy your first car. I now own a 2002 4runner and love it, but nothing can replace my 1983 Mazda GLC.

yea, my dad`s friensd install those radar scramblers or whatever. the other day he was putting one of those on a BMW 645 CI (i think thats what the model was)........ however, i dont think my mom would be very happy when she finds out that i have that piece of hardware on my car.......

also, i was considering maybe getting an acura or honda. i NEED a four door car, and i dont want a camry or corolla (leave those to the moms and grandmas).

Hey NCSU are you out of college now? Love to meet up with more NC people.

Getting back to topic, yes Radar Detectors rule. I have a Passport 8500 and it has paid for itself, but that is if it detects the radar before they get a reading on you. Some false readings, but its worth it easily. Too bad I need to upgrade to a V1 or New passport X50. You can also look into a police scanner or radar scrambler which cost alot.

My mom wasn`t happy when I bought one either. I really don`t speed excesively. I bought it because it is easy to hit 50 in a 35 and never realize it. I bought it when I was your age.

No, graduated in 1999. Now live in Hickory. I really miss Raleigh though. I have football season tickets to State, so I make it back some.

Think we can get a Poorboy`s Detail day in NC?

Zesty - go for a late model TL-S - similar price range if not cheaper and while not M3 0-60 times you still get 260HP - auto stick if you want to drive manual and they come loaded.
You have activated my special ability....
