    SSR2 before Klasse twins?

I`m planning a detailing session on a 2002 Dark Gray Toyota Camry. It`s in pretty good condition. This is my plan:

    Wash
    Clay
    Rinse
SSR2 w/ Lake County white pad
    AIO by hand
    SG by hand

    Does this sound feasible?

You may want to SSR1 after SSR2 - if color is dark. IMO

    CarGlow:

I just used SSR2 with a PC on a black car and was able to go straight to EX. I think the trick is to work the product well enough to allow the diminishing abraisives to work their magic and then break down softly to polish the surface. I use this method with Meg`s DACP as well. Going to AIO after SSR2 will be okay if you use a PC and run it at around 5.5 until it dusts.

    Good luck!

    Thanks for the replies.

I thought AIO would "clean up" any SSR2 residue. I`m not certain if following with SSR1 is necessary, but thanks for the tip.

I`d use SSR1 or Pro Polish but that`s because that`s what I have. If you have AIO I think you should use it after SSR2. I mean....you might not HAVE to use the AIO but what the hell...why not go for the best possible finish given the products you have on hand. The AIO should, it seems to me, act like SSR1 or PP and further diminish imperfections, fine tune the paint and get the surface ready for EX, EX-P or in your case the SG. It ought to be beautiful

Sounds like a very good plan! I think you will be pleased. As others have said, make sure you get the paint prepped really well, as the AIO/SG won`t hide many imperfections.

The SSR1 wouydn`t be to clean up residue but to polish out any fine scratches left from SSR2. On silver no problem but on a dark color I would use a fine polish. AIO will most likely only clean and not polish very much. JMO. GoodLuck.

Actually did it last week. Maxshine is exactly right. The AIO will not really polish the surface, its more of a cleaner. I did the SSR2 on black and ended up polishing with Poorboys Professional Polish before applying the AIO. The PP polished it up nice. IMO it was a winning combination! You`ll love it.
I love the smell of EX-P in the morning.

Just out of curiosity, what did you top the AIO with on your black car? I am planning on SSR2-SSR1-AIO-EXP. I`m looking for a good combo for black. Maybe I`ll put a layer of SG in there before the EXP. Too bad you can`t use a PC with SG.

I always read that AIO would strip any old wax/sealants and is a perfect 1st step. Then SSR2 If necessary) ,SSR1, then sealant.

Even using PP after SSR1 will diminish some of the luster that SSR`s put into the finish

Nooo- SSR2 and SSR1 don`t leave anything behind, AIO is a chemical cleaner that leaves behind an acrylic so it is better to go ssr2>ssr1>AIO - don`t apply by PC @ 5 till powder. Use a soft buff pad and apply at 3`3.5 and just cover an area 2`x2`. Then remove with a MF (AIO comes off much better if removed right after applied and leaves a much clearer shine IMHO).

Groebuck - thanks for the info. I`ve read different opinions on using AIO after SSR. Many people claim it reduces the pop, but I want a clean layer for the EXP to bond to. In your process, do you mean that I should just "wipe on, wipe off" the AIO? It sounds like I should apply with PC and a finishing pad at 3-3.5 and then wipe off one area at a time. No hazing, right?

I usually will go Pro Polish or Vanilla Moose after SSR2. I rarely get any haze from SSR2 and just like to take the extra step. For AIO, I think Pro Polish would be a perfect next step.

If AIO goes after SSR`s, then what first step removes previous wax/sealants ?

Sounds like the way to go is SSR2 (if nec), SSR1, AIO or PP, Sealant, topper wax, is that correct ?

I`m wondering the same thing. I hate to think I need to AIO twice.

Wash-Clay-AIO-SSR2 (if nec), SSR1, AIO or PP, Sealant, topper wax

That`s a pretty long day, even for me.
