    Nick...

I used Vista Print just like you suggested and I cannot wait to receive my order !!! I will post a pic when it arrived.

I paid @ $150 for 5000 card shipped to my door. I know its a lot of cards, but a couple of local businesses have enthusiastically asked me to advertise in their establishment !!!

P.S. My old cards were real boring !!!

Clean Dean: COme to think of it, 5000 isnt all too high of a number when your doing cold advertising (basically marketing yourself w/out establishing prior rapport with the client). Early on in my business (when i first designed my flyer) i went around by foot and placed 150 of my ad`s onto people`s doorsteps / outside of their mailboxes. Roughly 2 weeks later i made about 12-15 appointments off of that single run (it was a high income neighborhood too), which is like an 8-10% response rate, thats a VERY impressive number! I consider myself quite lucky actually in that particular situation.

So with similar figures (i assume it will be close to like 5-7% in your case), out of the 5000 cards your ordered....thats potentially 250-300 NEW clients!

So you have done well, now its just a matter of targeting effective and large exposure area`s in which your cards can be readily distributed.

    Goodluck

Great thread! Here is mine. I designed and printed these myself and am really happy with the results. I printed my first page of 10 cards with my ink at about half and my printer says it can print 35 more pages with the ink that is remaining. So $15 for paper and $15 for half of an ink cartridge = $30 for 350 business cards.

Thanks guys for the compliments. Yes I did make these on my computer using a combination of a couple different programs. For the editing, and putting everything together I used a program called photoimpression(I love this program and use it exclusively for all my photo stuff) and I used Avery LabelPro(this program was free and worked OK..there are definitely better programs out there for this) to set up everything to print on the cards. The hardest part was finding a background that I liked. After that, I just played with the image and the text until I got something that looked good.

    I used

I just found this website, and it seems like a great place. I also used vista print for my cards. And for my website i used cheap-domainregistration.com. it was, I think 7.95 per year to register a domain name. They also offered website services and hosting which I also used. I just started my website www.perfectdetailing.com. It is very inexpensive to use them to host your site.
