Black Leather w/Suede Inserts - Product Suggestions

I`ve been reading up on some leather care products, and would like your honest opinions on which you would suggest for my seats.

I have black leather seats. They seem to be in pretty good shape. I don`t have any good pictures to show ya, but can get a small glimps from my "Hi my Name Is. . ." Thread http://www.detailcity.com/forums/sho...&threadid=1765 )

I`m mainly concerned with the black leather at this point, as the lite-grey suede appear to be in really good shape. Where some suggest Lexol, others say Mcguiars, or Platinum and even all in ones. I`m not even sure if I need a cleaner or if I should only get the conditioner.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Plat all the way bro. I`ve used many leather products and these are tops. Heck even Anthony uses them and his word is like spoken law around here. I would recomend the cleaner if you are looking for true perfection as well. It may not be necisary by any means but it can only help. Last thing is tape off the suede! You should try hard not to get leather stuff on there.

Thanks for the ultra-fast reply Koop!

Very cool. Would you suggest both the Platinum cleaner and conditioner Koop?

    Never leave your leather naked

Always feed or condition your leather after itis cleaned or else it will dry out, crack and fade.

For leather cleaners I use two. One is Top of the Lines "Deep Down" and the other is Platinum`s Leather Cleaning Gel.

For leather conditioning I use only Platinum`s Leather Conditioner.

To check out Top of the Line go to www.topoftheline.com

To check out the Platinum stuff click on www.premiumautocare.com

    Hope that helps

The Pinnicle Leather Conditioner is also great I think #39 and the stuff anthony like from TOL is the best cleaner for leather. Test #39 before you use though it may be to harsh.

I would be skeptical about applying that #39 to sensitive leathers. Why wouldn`t you go with a leather cleaner instead of a vinyl cleaner?? It just seems that could be a little rough on fine leather....

The bad thing about Pinnacle`s Leather Conditioner is that it streaks real bad on black leather and that really bites!

For leather cleaners always make sure they are safe for leather and a correct PH. In fact DOVE soap mixed in with water also makes a very nice and gentle cleaner. Perhaps a bit too gentle but it leaves the leather very soft and supple.

Based on a recommendation, I use water/Woolite at a 6:1 dilution ratio for leather and vinyl. It is definitely on the mild side which to me seems like a good thing. Seems to be working quite well with no bad side effects.
Here again, this is just for my cars and boats and while they get well used, they don`t get abused.
I do use the Platinum leather conditioner even though I have coated, (Pontiac) leather. The sample I received a long time ago sold me. Went on evenly, wiped off cleanly, smelled great. I have also heard that 303 is good for coated leather. Seems like I even read where it was good for uncoated leather as well.
Just keep it away from the suede.

My Leather is coated so I give it full strength #39 to get it perfect.
