    Masking areas

Is it really necessary to mask trim, glass, and so forth when using a PC? I have not bought one yet, so I have no personal experience holding one.

i think it depends on the product you are using. if a certain product stains trim, then you should mask off the trim before polishing. if the product does not have any adverse affects to trim (plastic, metal, etc) then you should be fine not masking it off.

50 cents of worth tape, and 15 minutes of prep time, in my eyes, is always better than an hours worth of labor

Stainbuster, i used 2`` and 1`` when i was masking off that C230 Kompressor last weekend, its and awesome no residue tape. Less headache and less worries whenusing a PC.

I usually mask off when I do a car as well. Its worth it in the long run.

Quick question for you guys, can I put a thin strip of the painters tape over a pinstripe running down the side of the car on the paint to protect that from damage when buffing?

Are they painted stripes or tape stripes?

On painted stripes this should not be a problem, on tape stripes I think it might not be such a good idea.
