Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.... flooded on Friday, August 8 2003

Hmmm, I`m not sure what to think or where to start.
Our facility isn`t in a flood zone. It always floods on a main road close by but never in our area.... until today.

It just kept raining and raining and raining..... and the water from the street that usually floods became a quickly expanding lake....

I got nervous when we had to start moving pallets of material to higher areas... it came up into and parking lot... starting approaching our front door and within 20 minutes had 8-12 inches of water in our showroom and all throughout our offices and mixing department.

Thank God for insurance! Fortunately we have inventory high and dry.... a mechanic across the street even helped put Rick`s 1966 Impala up on floor jacks!

Oh well.... when I left Rick was still there but there was nothing left to do but wait till the water goes down and start the clean up and repair process.

Orders will be delayed a bit.... instead of shipped in one to two days I think I will need seven days to ship.

Look at Sarasota, Florida on the weather channel and you will see what is going on today... we are about 60 miles south of Tampa Bay on the Gulf Of Mexico.

    Take care guys

Wow what a bummer...good thing Poorboy`s products are high on those shelves.... Otherwise I`d have to send you new labels

We also have had a tremendous amount of rain but our inventory is safe and dry fortunately...been watching my brook get higher and higher each day....

we should all come down and fill some sand bags for you Dwayne

Yeah, I volunteer for sandbag duty

Hey Dwayne I am sorry that happened, but everything happens for a reason. You will come through this, and who knows, maybe you will end up better than you started.

I`ve got my little blow up floaties on my arms and my flippers nearby. I`ve even got my wading boots on. At least you don`t have to worry about your car getting dusty, huh? :p Maybe you should consider shipping that water to the areas of the country that are in a drought right now? You could make some good money that way I`ll bet. Good luck guys. Maybe this will be good for the fishing? (just lookin for the bright side)

It finally stopped raining but I am home now and do not know the situation at work.

I plan on meeting Rick on Saturday morning and hopefully we will be able to whip the place into shape.

The Weather Channel says we have another 70% chance of rain on both Saturday and Sunday so we will have to keep a close eye on the sky.

On the bright side..... we are in the third year of a five year lease and were thinking about buying but now we know that this can happen we won`t buy this building and will start looking for a building on top of a hill.

I will have flood pics up as soon as we get things cleaned up.

Well look at the bright side, now you wont make a buisness mistake that could have been MUCH worse later on. Also, thank god the the jackstands, I would hate to see anything happen to that classic Buick.

Don`t order anything from Rick for a while. You are probably going to be on his list.
That classic Buick is a Chevrolet.

Sorry to hear about the flood conditions.

If I were closer I would help with sandbags.
