    Meguiars #66

Ive been considering using this product with a PC that I am going to be ordering soon. It looks like a good one step process for normal every day cars, and the price is hard to argue with?

    Hi Tass,

Meguiar`s #66 is a one step cleaner wax that is designed for the reconditioning/ high volume detailing. As such, it one of the best products that I have used for THAT purpose. However, regardless, it is NOT as good as breaking the procedure down into individual steps. To me, it is a short cut and a cost cutting measure. If I believed that one product could do it all, I would use it and not have invested $1000`s into supplies.

    Just IMHO!!!

Well I wont be using it on my best details. But I could use it on my mid details, save a lot of time, and have good results.

Wuuld you rate this product as a good step product overall, though? It just seems to fit my needs economically for certain cars.

If I had to use one cleaner wax on cars with swirls and light oxidation, this would be my product of choice.

How long does it seem to last. I would hope atleast 30 days worth of protection is left.

I would say 30 days even with no maintenance would be no problem.

Thats great! No really I mean it.

How good of a job does it do at removing swirls and minor oxidation?

Also, how well does it react to being topped with perhaps a sealant or wax.

I think what 2hotford said, applies here"NOT as good as breaking the procedure down into individual steps" but it can tackle some pretty bad swirls(considering what it is).
I have never tried to top it with anything, but I don`t see why that would cause a problem. Especially if it was something like #26.

How well does the surface it leaves behind react to a sealant or wax? If it improves with a wax or sealant, which ones are good? How about different product for different paints (dark/light).

I would be interested in the answers to the questions regarding #66. Some folks just don`t seem to care about their vehicles appearance that much. Seems like #66 would be a good product to use on customers vehicles that you know are going to be neglected and the owner isn`t interested in a "show car" shine.
Someone please correct me if Iam wrong.

Thats PRECISELY why I want to use #66. There is absolutely no point in doing a full PB setup on a car that I know next week will be washed, and then dryed with a dirty towel.

Thats why I am wondering about those questions I posted above.

Tasadar we are on the same wave lenght regards to #66. I just can`t see spending extra time and material trying to "polish a turd".
If the 66 performs well, interested on what topping to go with it. Ex,S100???

I cringe at even using P21S/S100 on a car like that. Especially when the likely hood of them powerwashing the car (blasting off the P21S) is very high.

I assume UPP, EX, Zaino, and so on should bond just fine.

As I understand it #66 has carnauba in it and therefore would not be ideal under UPP or Z, EX perhaps. I think I would leave it as is or top with #26 or s100. Having used #66 on cars that were in pretty bad shape, I never topped it with anything and never had a customer who was not suprised at how good the car looked
