Default Mothers Pro Glass Cleaner as IPA Wipe

Can I use Mothers Pro Glass Cleaner with 1:10 dilution as IPA wipe on paint for inspecting polishing results?

Glass cleaner does not have enough alcohol to be suitable for this purpose. Isopropyl alcohol at about a 40-65% dilution is the generally recommended minimum in the industry.

Your statement contradicts what I read about Dr. G of Optimum Polymer Technologies. He recommend not to use more than 25% IPA on paint.

Also Meguiars recommend to use their diluted glass cleaner concentrate d120 from Pro line before applying paint coating m688 (they have paint coatings for Asian market).

After reading your reply I checked SDS of both Mothers and Meguiars glass cleaners and found same amount of IPA i.e. 10%-30%.

Remember that the Safety Data Sheet is a reference for safety/cleanup only (not for reverse-engineering a chemical formulation) and the ingredient percentages are almost never exact; a range of 10% - 30% is pretty broad. Ours may be 30 and theirs may be 10 or vise-vera or somewhere in-between.

But if that's what Meguiar's wants to recommend for their products, that's fine. We have not tested it.

Remember that IPA dilution has a direct correlation with how fast it may dissolve waxes and oils, so if you do use a lower concentrate of alcohol, you may have to allow more time for the chemistry to react; keeping in mind that that paints may respond differently which seems to be why certain recommendations are made. Professionals usually do what works best for them, especially given a certain timeframe, and recommendations for the enthusiast/consumer are generally more conservative as they are made for a broader audience.

That said, we do not recommend the use of our glass cleaner concentrate as an IPA substitute for wipedown purposes as that is not the intended purpose of the product. If you did dilute as glass cleaner 1:10 and used it as a wipe-down you might expect multiple applications and/or an increased dwell time.

Additionally, here in the States, IPA of most any concentrate is much more economical than a glass cleaner concentrate. But what you use is up to you.
