Default Compartment door scratches

I have a 2006 Nissan 350Z. The compartment door on the dash seems to be made of a rubberized black material. As soon as you touch it a white scratch appears. This problem seems to be inherent to the 06 models. It seems that Nissan would not cover the defects under their warranty. I also heard that law suits were started against Nissan because of this problem. I read on a forum that Mothers Back to Black will work to hide the scratches. Is there anyone out there that has solved this?
Thanks for your help,
Artie

A vinyl dressing can generally help hide minor defects in a vinyl, plastic or rubber surface, but you may need to defer to a forum specific to your model to see what they are finding works on such a unique finish.
