    Shredding Pads

    Help!!

I have just ruined two white pads!!##$$ They both tore around the velcro pad on the back. Don`t know what I did wrong, but wasn`t doing anything `rugged` in either case. Had them on my PC and believe the damage may have occured when I was running at `6` using SSR1 (in both cases).

I don`t know the brand name of these pads.

I suspect this was my own fault, but has anyone had a similar problem?? Some advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I used to tear up Griot`s pads all the time. I switched to Lake County 6.5" pads and they are great.

IS the backing pad on the orbital larger than the velcro pn the pad. This will cut into the pad I had the same problem

    Thanks for the comeback guys.

Nope, the velcro pad is slightly larger than the (5") backing plate. There is a band of black all around the backing plate when they are together.

I thought that maybe I was running my PC too fast, but it doesn`t seem right that one can`t run at top speed (or any speed, for that matter) with a properly designed pad.

I have communicated the problem to the dealer from whom I purchased the pads and he says he will be sending me two replacements at no cost, but I would like to avoid the problem in the future.

    Thanks again.

PS - I thought that a problem like this would attract more attention?

    Thanks `wifehates........`

    Quite right.

I bought them online; I won`t mention the name of the supplier because he has been very cooperative about the whole thing and has promised to send me replacement pads at no expense to me.

How about - "They are white, 6.5" in diameter, about an inch thick and have a black velcro fastener in the center of the back."

What I am mainly interested in is making sure that I haven`t somehow ruined these things on my own and make sure I don`t do it again.

I can`t possibly be the only guy this has happened to.

C`mon you guys - chirp in here.

That happened to some curved pads that I had when I first tried out the pc... then I tried out some Meg`s pads and I liked them a lot. The velcro almost goes out to the very edge of the pad so there is a lot of safey room for the backing plate.

I`m pretty rough on my Lake Country pads, they are just starting to wear after about 15 cars.
I will be trying the Edge 2000 in the future though I think
